To fight the economic instability of young artists, Yemo Park (b. 1990, Seoul, KR) decided to create her own economic system by establishing companies through which she can shape her practice independently of the (commercial) structures of the art world.

At Lichtekooi, Park presents her Deep Pleasure Pool Club company by installing four swimming-pool models in the garden. Each pool was custom-designed for a “virtual” client. Park: “Deep Pleasure Pool Club is a business that brings together different artistic practices for pool designing and building. The company aims to offer a multi-sensory pool-design, construction and installation service. It is a company that isuniquely identified by its bespoke swimming pools designed and constructed by a group of artists. Each pool is composed of various artworks by different artists and is carefully curated so as to satisfy the client’s aquatic desire.”

Each pool has its own virtual AR showroom which can be visited by scanning a QR code or via the website deeppleasurepool.club. The details of the project are explained in Tim magazine (#2: TIM means business, May 2021).
